Assistant Plant Manager. Plan, coordinate, and direct all activities related to the manufacturing of biodiesel at the company’s plant using tools such as Delta V, Yokogawa and Allen Bradley control systems, and ASPEN. Direct the operations of the Production, Quality, Logistics, and Maintenance departments, collect data on their performance, and create reports using Crystal Reports. Analyze the data collected and utilize Minitab, Microsoft Project, SAP and Windows ERP systems to launch plant-wide projects that will minimize variability in production processes and quality control systems, enhance production times, and reduce costs. Review the process flow diagrams and instrumentation diagrams created by subordinates using Microsoft Visio. Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures for the plant and review work instructions, manuals, and related documentation pertaining to engineering, utility, operations, and quality control created by subordinates using Microsoft Office. Train all operators and technicians on operations, maintenance, safety, and conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure that employees are complying with safe practices and regulatory requirements. Analyze plant facility and initiate capital projects to make improvements or additions to the plant, including creating designs using AutoCAD to illustrate proposed changes. Participate in HAZOP, PSSR, and other regulatory programs and utilize knowledge of the BQ-9000 diesel quality program and ISO 9000 and 14000 to ensure that plant processes operate using the most up-to-date safe practices and remain within regulatory compliance standards. Conduct performance reviews for employees biannually. Will supervise 1 Maintenance Manager, 1 Maintenance Planner, 3 Mechanics (CRE), 3 Mechanics (Delta), 2 Welder Helpers, 1 Sr. Electrician, 1 Ops Training Coordinator, 4 Process Ops Leads (CRE), 13 Process Operators (CRE), 1 Lead Operator, 4 Operators (Delta), 2 Sr. Administrative Assistants, 1 Administrative Assistant, 1 Environmental Health and Safety Manager, 1 EH & S Technician, 1 Instrumentation & Calibration Tech, and 1 Plant Engineer.

Requirements: The position requires a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related position. The position requires skills and knowledge in Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, Minitab, AutoCAD, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Project, ASPEN, SAP and Windows ERP systems, the BQ-9000 biodiesel quality program, ISO 9000 and 14000, Delta V, Yokogawa and Allen Bradley control systems, HAZOP and PSSR. The position involves incidental travel 1 percent of the time, not more than several days per year.
